EMUHU COMMUNTY PROTESTS HIGH BEDC BILLING



Residents of Emuhu community in Ika South LGA, have expressed relief over the restoration of Electricity supply in the area.
  The residents who appreciated an illustrious son of the community,  Mr. Paul Alika, for paying the community electricity bill of over 1,100,000 naira, said they have been in total blackout as a result of disconnection of their electricity by BEDC for over a long period of time. They disclosed that they were not able to meet up with the payment of their electricity bill, stressing that the BEDC estimated billing method was too high for the residents as a result of them being peasants.
 They prayed God to bless Mr Alika for his philanthropic gestures and grant all his heart desires.
 Mr. Alika, who is a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, disclosed that he was moved with sympathy and love for the community haven observed that the community has been in total blackout for many months. He however called on the management of the BEDC to review the estimated billing method in order to avoid over billing.

Following the incessant killing by rival cult groups, Black Axe and Vikings, some concerned citizens of Ika in Delta state, Nigeria, have lamented that the youths of the Ika land have reduced in numbers and pleading that the youths should have a re-think as it is detrimental to the growth and development of the Ika nation and Nigeria as a whole. In their words, “we don’t know where we are going to and when this evil of cultism will cease among our youths in Ika, because it has earned us nothing. It is painful and shameful that we are living in fear in our fathers land and fear of our own children whom the future of our community lies in their hands." " We weep because the future of Ika nation is in doubt with this failing youths that have identified themselves with cultism. This menace of cultism have led some of our youths to run for their dear lives and taking the risk of traveling through the Mediterranean Sea to European countries and have died in the process.
