I WAS MOTIVATED BY HUMBLE BACKGROUND- CORPER GRACE

The Delta state commissioner for basic and secondary education, Mr. Chiedu Ebie has urged youth corpers serving in the schools to leave an enduring legacy that they would be remembered for after their National Youth Service.
 Mr. Chiedu Ebie was speaking at the Dein Secondary school, Ime-Obi Agbor,  while commissioning 20 pieces of 3 seater class room chairs, school uniforms, waste disposal items and writing materials, donated to the school by a serving youth corper in the school, Corper Grace Obemeata Aloye.
 The commissioner who was ably represented by a senior officer in the Education Ministry, Mrs. Nkechi Ekosi, said he was highly pleased with such donation from a youth corper and commended the corper on behalf of the Delta state government, for assisting Government in making sure that the students in the schools have a conducive environment for learning. He disclosed that the quality of the items was worth over N250,000.
   Mr. Chiedu Ebie further advised the students to make good use of the school items in order not to disappoint the donor, their parents and the society at large.
 Also speaking at the ocassion, the Ika South Council Chairman, Hon. Fred Ofume disclosed that such level of donation from a youth corper was unprecedented in the Area adding that he was highly overwhelmed and declared corper Grace Aloye who hailed from Benue state, an indigene of Ika South Local Government Area, promising to assist the Youth corper in securing a Job in the Local Government Council when vacancy exists after her NYSC for assisting government in its duties.
  The Council Chairman also advised the students to make judicious use of the items and prayed for the youth corper.
  In an interview with Ika Kanma correspondent,  Corper Grace Obemeata Aloye disclosed that she was motivated by her deeper life religion after noticing that the students were having no chairs to seat in the classroom and uniforms, decided to assist government and their parents in the development since government alone could not do it all. She urged the students to be good citizens.
 The Principal of the Dein Secondary school, Mr. Monday Memeh who also commended the youth corper pointed out that she was remarkably outstanding in her primary assignment. They prayed God to bless her in her future endeavours.

TWO YEARS ANNIVERSARY: ALIKA CONGRATULATES GOVERNOR OKOWA, DELTANS FOR THEIR SUPPORT

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Paul Alika, has congratulated the state governor, Sen. DELTA STATE CHIEF JUDGE COMMISSIONS NEW MAGISTRATE COURT AT IGBODO.

The Delta state Chief Judge, Justice Marshal Umukoro, has commissioned a new magistrate court at Igbodo in Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state.  Speaking during the ocassion, Justice Umukoro urged the people of Igbodo not to imitate the “deviants in Ogwashi-Uku court". He maintained that with the establishment of the Igbodo Magistrate’s Court, the arraignment of criminal suspects will no longer be at the magistrate’s court at Umunede, adding that “the jurisdiction of the Igbodo Magistrate’s Court includes Igbodo, Ekwuoma, Ute Ugbeojei and Owerre Olubor communities.” Enjoining the Police to provide security for the presiding magistrate during court sessions, he appealed to the pioneer members of staff of the court to exhibit the highest form of commendable conduct “devoid of cheating, extortion, bribery and corruption as anyone caught in such acts would be dealt with severely.” Emphasizing that the Igbodo Magistrate’s Court should be protected, Umukoro stress...
