IKA SOUTH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN PRESENTS 2017 BUDGET.

The Executive chairman of Ika South Local Government Area, Hon. Fred Ofume, has presented a budget of #2,449,504,880.00 (Two Billion, Four Hundred and Forty Nine Million, Five Hundred and Four Thousand Naira) for the year 2017, before the legislative arm of the council.
According to a breakdown of the budget, total recurrent expenditure is #2,148,204,88.00 while total capital expenditure is #301,300,000.00.
 Speaking during the budget presentation, Hon. Ofume said the current economic crunch in Nigeria has a deeper cut in Delta state as a result of the activities of Vandals which he noted has also indirectly affected Ika South Local Government, hence the budget of  #2,449,504,880.00 in 2017 as against #2,939,970,150 , in 2016.

He disclosed that the council is not leaving any stone unturned, particularly in the area of boosting her revenue, an action he opined will help address some of the challenges of the council.
 The Leader of the Legislative Arm,Ika South LGA, Rt Hon Sonny Iyeke thanked the Council Chairman and members of his executive for the prompt presentation of the budget which he said would be given the urgent attention it needed by the House.


 The budget was unanimously accepted by the house after a motion of acceptance was moved by the Deputy Minority Whip and Councillor representing Ward 4,Hon.Lucky Ozakpolor and seconded by the Councillor representing Ward 1,Hon Williams Eluma.
