Two Years Anniversary: Alika congratulates governor Okowa, Deltans for their support.


A Stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Paul Alika, has congratulated the state governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa on his two years anniversary in office,  describing him as miracle working governor.
 Mr. Alika also commeneded Deltans for their support for the governor within the period under review. 
  Alika said governor Okowa has performed remarkably well within this two years in office despite the economic downturn in the country and paucity of funds. 
 He observed that the presence of the government is felt in all the twenty-five Local Government Areas of the State, stressing that a lot of projects are on-going while others have been completed and commissioned across the 25 LGAs. 
 He said in line with the accountability policies of the Okowa led administration, that town hall meetings in all the Local Government Areas are ongoing in order to render account of the governor's stewardship marking the two years anniversary which he also described as a very welcomed development.  
 Mr. Alika said The government has touched virtually all the sectors of the State, ranging from Agriculture, Education, Health, Commerce, Industry, Sports and job creation. He noted that the governor has proved beyond every reaonable doubt that the SMART agenda  and the prosperity for all Deltans mantra is for real and urged critics to take note.
Hon. Alika  applauded  the governor for the youth empowerment programmes that has helped to reduce the unemployment rate in the State, disclosing that over 20,000 youths across the State have been gainfully engaged with the Youth Agricultural  Entrepreneurs Programme YAGEP, Skill Training and Entrepreneurship Programme STEP and other programmes under the job and wealth creation scheme such as Production and processing Support programme PPSP, Development of Agro-Industries and Extension of Microcredit. 
 The PDP stalwart maintained that the programmes have gone a long way in combating unemployment and youth restiveness in the State affirming that laudable programmes, projects and policies are undeniable proof that governor Okowa's  SMART Agenda was truly on course.
  He listed some of the commissioned projects in Ika South that the Okowa led administration has embarked on, to include, 
The Re-construction of Abavo central hospital,
The Construction of 1.3km access road to abavo hospital,
The Construction of Dr. Whyte street,
Construction of Upper Imudia street and The Construction of Charles street.  
 Alika said other completed projects include, 
The Construction of Alisimie/Ozanogogo road,
Re-construction of Agbor technical College and the reconstruction of
Ogbemudein mixed secondary school Agbor.
He also observed that The Construction of Abavo ring road was ongoing and awaiting completion.

 Meanwhile Mr. Alika has charged Deltans to continue to support the Okowa led administration stating that alot will be achieved in the remaining two years of Okowa's first tenure for the overall interest and development of the State.
 
 The People Democratic party chieftain congratulated the governor and wished him well as he continues to transparently, fairly and equitably pilot the affairs of the State in the  years ahead. He also  reiterated his selfless support for the miracle working governor and further pledged his continuous partnership.

RIP KIDNAPPED DPO. HE FOUGHT FOR SECURITY OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES OF NIGERIANS. A CREDIT TO HUMANITY

ASABA THE Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of the ‘C’ Division, Asaba, SP Valentine Mbalu has been reportedly killed by his abductors 12 days after he was taken hostage by suspected Fulani herdsmen between Ekwoma and Umunede along the Benin/Asaba/Onitsha expressway. Recall that the unsuspecting Police Officer was abducted at about 4pm on the 5th of this month on his way to Asaba after spending weekend with his family at Agbor. A reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the decomposing corpse of the DPO was found in Umunede bush yesterday. He disclosed that one of the suspected kidnappers, a native of Fulani who sells water Mellon at Abraka within the Asaba metropolis has been arrested. It would be recalled that the decomposing body of the king of Ubulu-Uku, HRM Edward Akaeze Ofulue III who was kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen sometimes in January 2016 was also found in Umunede bush days after his abduction.
