"I AM GRATEFUL THAT I AM ALIVE TODAY, CULTISM IS EVIL" -IKA EX CULTIST TESTIFIES


Following the incessant killing by rival cult groups, Black Axe and Vikings, some concerned citizens of Ika in Delta state, Nigeria, have lamented that the youths of the Ika land have reduced in numbers



and pleading that the youths should have a re-think as it is detrimental to the growth and development of the Ika nation and Nigeria as a whole.

In their words, “we don’t know where we are going to and when this evil of cultism will cease among our youths in Ika, because it has earned us nothing. It is painful
and shameful that we are living in fear in our fathers land and fear of our own children whom the future of our community lies in their hands."

" We weep because the future
of Ika nation is in doubt with this failing youths that have identified themselves with cultism. This menace of cultism have led some of our youths to run for their dear
lives and taking the risk of traveling through the Mediterranean Sea to European countries and have died in the process. This report is a wake-up call for youths of Ika nation to soberly reflect on the harm cultism has done and thereafter say no
to it"
"Save the future of our land and embrace hard work for it pays”.

Meanwhile, some government functionaries including the Director of Orientation, Barr. Eugene Uzum, and the S.S.A to the Delta state governor on Youth Development Hon. Innocent Esewezie,  and the SA Youth and Community
Development Mr. Emeke Asiwe and the S.A to the Delta state governor on Security, Mr. Imahia Chuks,  have held a one day seminar for youths in the area with the theme: "Cultism and the Nigerian Child",  where the consequences of cultism, drug abuse and examination malpractice were exposed.

The event which took place in Boji-Boji Owa on Tuesday 28, February 2017, had in attendance the Governor of Delta State, Senator
Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and other prominent personalities.

 Highlights of the event was the testimonies of cultists: " I am grateful to God that am alive today. Cultism is evil.  It does not pay and only bring death and destruction. I urge the younger generation to say no to cultism and embrace peace at all times”.
That was a testimony from an ex cultists.

However, the Director of Orientation, Barr Eugene Uzum, admonished students present at the seminar to identify themselves with what they can be proud of, revealing that a teacher is proud to be identified as a teacher, just like medical doctor, engineers, lawyers, Journalists,
among other professionals but a cultist will never be proud to be addressed as a cultist in the public.

TWO YEARS ANNIVERSARY: ALIKA CONGRATULATES GOVERNOR OKOWA, DELTANS FOR THEIR SUPPORT

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Paul Alika, has congratulated the state governor, Sen. DELTA STATE CHIEF JUDGE COMMISSIONS NEW MAGISTRATE COURT AT IGBODO.

The Delta state Chief Judge, Justice Marshal Umukoro, has commissioned a new magistrate court at Igbodo in Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state.  Speaking during the ocassion, Justice Umukoro urged the people of Igbodo not to imitate the “deviants in Ogwashi-Uku court". He maintained that with the establishment of the Igbodo Magistrate’s Court, the arraignment of criminal suspects will no longer be at the magistrate’s court at Umunede, adding that “the jurisdiction of the Igbodo Magistrate’s Court includes Igbodo, Ekwuoma, Ute Ugbeojei and Owerre Olubor communities.” Enjoining the Police to provide security for the presiding magistrate during court sessions, he appealed to the pioneer members of staff of the court to exhibit the highest form of commendable conduct “devoid of cheating, extortion, bribery and corruption as anyone caught in such acts would be dealt with severely.” Emphasizing that the Igbodo Magistrate’s Court should be protected, Umukoro stress...
